We will refer directly to The Art of Dramatic Writing (Egri), Story (McKee), Save the Cat (Snyder) and How Plays Work (Edgar).

The module begins with aspects related to the development of a dramatic script (hubris, hamartia, character flaws, wants and needs). The module develops the skills and techniques needed to write dramatic scripts and it draws on a wide range of materials. Teaching methods include interactive lectures, viewings, readings and workshops aimed to develop the skills of writing for performance and the capacity to critique your own work and that of your peers constructively and to edit with confidence.
