Setting up and starting Wimba Create
Installing Wimba Create on your computer
On your work computer
The ITS service desk at NTU (its.servicedesk@ntu.ac.uk) offers installation of Wimba Create to staff computers on request by email or phone (ext88500). The installation comes with the customised colour schemes for NTU and the current license.
On your home computer
According to the terms of the license, you are also entitled to download and install the software at home. A folder of the necessary files is available to all staff on their work computer.
To access this:
- Open the My Computer window.
- The G drive named It_core will be displayed as a Network Drive.
- Double click on this.
- Open the folder called software.
- Open the folder called Wimba Create home installation.
- Copy this file to a memory stick.
- Copy the file to your home computer
- Double click on it and work through the process of installing the software.
Software / hardware requirements
Other than Microsoft Word and a browser the software minimums are:
Windows XP, Windows Vista, Word 2003 or 2007. Wimba Create does not run on Macs.
Starting Wimba Create
To start using Wimba Create:
- Open Word.
- Click on the Add-Ins tab.
- Click on Wimba Create.
- Select Start Wimba Create.
