Adding website links using NOW's HTML Editor
To add a website link using NOW's HTML Editor:
- Start by clicking on New Topic in the Content area and select Create New File or edit an existing topic by clicking on the Pencil icon next to its name.
- In the HTML Editor click where you want the link to appear.
- Click on the Insert Quicklink icon (this is on both the Basic and Advanced tab).
- Use the Category drop-down menu to select Url.
- Type or paste the website address into the Link Details area ensuring that there is only one http:// at the beginning.
- Type a Link Caption. This is the text the reader will click on to access the website.
- Choose how you want the link to open. It is useful to have it open in the same frame, as having lots of windows open up can be disruptive to some assistive technologies (for more information on this please see WebAIM
).
- Click Insert.
- Once you have finished editing the web page, click Save.
- Make sure that you test the link to ensure it is working correctly.
