NOW HTML Editor
The NOW HTML Editor allows you to create web pages which display in the NOW Content area as a 'topic'. It uses a 'what you see is what you get' (WYSIWYG) interface, showing you how the page will look when displayed in a web browser, rather than the code used to create it. The available editing and formatting options are similar to those found in Microsoft Office, allowing you to change the font, size and layout of text as well as add images and video.
You can also use the editor to edit pages which have been created outside of NOW (e.g. using Wimba Create) and then uploaded. Additionally you can also use it to edit the HTML code of the page. For advanced editing (such as significant changes to layout, table structures or the inclusion or editing of scripting languages like JavaScript and PHP
) you may want to use a dedicated web design tool like Adobe Dreamweaver
.
When creating a new web page using the editor, you may want to paste in text from an existing Microsoft Word 2010 document. To ensure that the text can be formatted after it is added to the page, it is advisable to copy the text and then use the 'Paste from Word' button to paste it in to the HTML editor. If you do not do this, you may have some trouble changing the font, size and colour of the text.
